The Roswell Police Department is working a personal injury accident at Norcross Street and Holcomb Bridge Road behind the Best Western Motel.
At approximately 3:25a.m., on Sunday, March 5, 2005, a Roswell Police Officer on routine patrol observing traffic at Ga. Hwy 9 and Chattahoochee Street noticed a vehicle northbound on Ga. 9. The vehicle left the roadway and struck the curb. The officer turned on his blue lights to initiate a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop and proceeded north on Ga. 9 to Norcross Street. The vehicle turned right onto Norcross Street driving recklessly. The vehicle accelerated to approximately 60 mph. The Roswell officer lost sight of the vehicle at that point. As the officer topped a hill on a left hand curve the officer saw the vehicle leave the roadway striking a fence, some scrubs, flipping over and spinning ejecting the two occupants.
Both occupants' two Hispanic males were sent by helicopter, one to the Atlanta Medical Center and the other to Gwinnett Medical Center. A check at the Atlanta Medical Center yielded information that the male there was in guarded condition. At Gwinnett Medical center the male there had not been seen but was in critical condition.
There was a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage at the scene.
