Rainy weather mixed with thunder and lightning kept some people away, but for the second night in a row, a large contingent of parents, teenagers and other concerned citizens gathered, this time at Forsyth Central High School, for the second in a series of town hall meetings to address the issue of accidents involving teen drivers.

Once again Sheriff Ted Paxton hosted the event and was joined by panelist Paula Gault, Forsyth County School Superintendent, LTC. Ken Konstanzer, L.E.A.D.E.R. Director, Lynn Jackson, Northside Hospital Forsyth Administrator, and Jim Perdue, Pastor of North Cross Baptist Church.

The panel discussion was followed by a question and answer session, along with comments from members of the audience. In response to a comment from Mike Busse, a former candidate for the District 2 Commission seat, regarding soliciting funds from the county to support the L.E.A.D.E.R. program, District 1 Commissioner Charles Laughinghouse announced that he has requested the support of the Board of Commissioners in awarding a $150,000 grant to L.E.A.D.E.R. (Lanier Extended Area Driver Education Resource- www.leaderga.org).

The final town hall meeting will be Wednesday, June 8th, 2005 at 7 pm at North Forsyth High School. All parents of teen drivers are invited to attend, along with their children.
