A full house was present in the South Forsyth High auditorium Monday night for the “kickoff” town hall meeting to address the issue of accidents involving teen drivers.

Sheriff Ted Paxton hosted the meeting and started the evening by introducing three local mothers, each having lost a teenage child in a traffic accident. The evening continued with presentations by each of the five panelists, Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton, Forsyth County School Superintendent Paula Gault, L.E.A.D.E.R. Director Dr. Michael Hogan, Northside Hospital Forsyth Administrator Lynn Jackon, and Forsyth County Sheriff Department Chaplain, Chris Holdorf. Local government officials in attendance were State Representative Jack Murphy and District 1 Commissioner, Charles Laughinghouse. Also in attendance was Forsyth County School Board member, Ann Crow. A question and answer session followed the panel discussion.

The second town hall meeting will be at 7:00pm Tuesday evening, June 7th, 2005 at Forsyth Central High School. The third meeting takes place at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening, June 8th, 2005 at North Forsyth High School.

All parents of teenage drivers and their children are encouraged to attend one or more of these sessions.
