Dear Concerned Fellow Citizens: On Tuesday, July 5 at 7:00 there will be a Zoning Board of Appeals meeting held in Forsyth County on the second floor of the Administration Building. On the agenda are four separate requests for a narrowing of the stream buffer. In each case, irreparable harm will be done to the adjacent water bodies as well as those that the streams feed into. Smart Growth Forsyth County and Forsyth Forest Conservation Group ask all able and concerned citizens to come out to the meeting WEARING A RED SHIRT as a show of solidarity. The concern over each variance request is that if the county continues to allow a little change here and there of the rules, soon you have a major problem. Right now, Alpharetta has had to set aside nearly 7 million dollars to repair storm water and run off damage to Big Creek. That's a lot of tax dollars! Properly caring for our waterways is a responsibility our county should take seriously. Remember, communities above Forsyth are rapidly developing. We want THEM to be responsible for properly caring for the streams and rivers there, as allowing a narrowing of buffers creates increased run-off issues FOR US. It'll be our millions in tax dollars next! Don't worry if you aren't comfortable speaking in front of the appeals board. Just being there in your red shirt is support enough. Please forward this message to your groups, organizations, friends and family. Let's get the word out and attendance UP! Thank you for your care and concern for Forsyth County.
