Authorities are not releasing the names of two men that were taken into custody after being spotted near the latest in a series of suspicious fires that have plagued Fulton, Forsyth and Gwinnett County. The fire broke out about 8:05 am. Wednesday at the Chattahoochee River Club subdivision on Old Pruitt Road in Cumming, Ga.

A fire investigator apparently noticed smoke rising from an empty home in the subdivision and went in to have a look. Once there, investigators and patrols blanketed the area and eventually spotted the two suspects and a green Chevrolet Silverado near the burning home.

The suspects attempted to escape in the Silverado, but were apprehended after a short-lived, medium-speed chase, authorities said. They remain in custody and are expected to be presented in a line-up for identification.

Developments in the fire investigation led police to obtain arrest warrants for both men Tuesday, as well as being on the look out for the green Silverado.

Authorities have yet to confirm any injuries caused by the subdivision blaze or what sparked the fire. The area is described as a residential suburb.

Fire officials say their investigation is still ongoing. They may be releasing more information as it develops.

More details as they become available.
