Forsyth County Sheriff Ted Paxton accepted a state-of-the-art defibrillator this week from Bob Frasca, Loan Consultant with Washington Mutual Home Loans. Frasca arranged the donation of the defibrillator from his company after hearing that the Sheriff’s Office was planning to place one in every Sheriff’s Office building.
“We plan to place this first one in the Forsyth County Courthouse and make sure our courthouse staff is trained on its use,” said Sheriff Paxton. “The courthouse obviously has the largest number of public visitors, so it stands to reason that that is where the first one should be placed. We are very grateful to Washington Mutual for the donation,” he added.
The defibrillators cost approximately $1,600 each. The presentation was made at the start of the Sheriff’s Office annual golf tournament to benefit the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes. Washington Mutual was also a significant financial sponsor of the tournament, which raised over $15,000 for the Youth Homes, Paxton said.
