The Ludwig Symphony Orchestra presents the second gala concert of its ninth season entitled "a Beethoven Romance for Valentines Day" on Saturday, February 3, 2007, at 8 p.m. at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. The evening performance features dynamic Korean violinist-Janet Sung in her LSO debut with the Saint-Saens Violin Concerto No.3, local 17 year old cellist-Zachary Mansell performing two movements of the Elgar Cello Concerto, and the eighty piece orchestra in masterpieces by Tschaikovsky, Beethoven, and Dvorak.

Phenomenal violinist-Janet Sung-made her debut with the Pittsburgh Symphony at the tender age of nine performing Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 2 with her own cadenzas. A graduate of the Juilliard School and Harvard University with honors-double degree in music and anthropology, Janet Sung brings a brilliant, fiery, and extremely expressive style of violin virtuosity to the stage. Her performances all over the world have taken her to Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall. Winner of the Nakamichi Violin Competition, NPR broadcast nationally Janet Sung's performance of the Korngold Violin Concerto.

Talented young cellist, Zachary Mansell, hails from Roswell, where he attends Roswell High School. A student of Martha Gerschefski, he has attended Brevard Music Center, Governor's Honors Program, and has won numerous awards.

Maestro Thomas Ludwig, former music director of the New York City Symphony and resident conductor for American Ballet Theatre with Mikhail Baryshnikov will lead the orchestra. The program includes Beethoven's Overture to Leonore No.3, Tschaikovsky's-Capriccio Italien, and Dvorak's rarely performed-Scherzo Capriccioso.

Ticket prices are $15 for Adults, $12 for Seniors, and $5 for Students under 22. For more information call: 770-623-8623 or visit our website at www.ludwigsymphony.org.
