Council Members McCabe and Figueroa

Newly elected Johns Creek City Council Members Dan McCabe (Post 2) and Ivan Figueroa (Post 4) will be formally admitted into office Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 at 7 p.m.

“I am looking forward to having our two remaining City Council Members seated and their immediate input and involvement as we build our new City,” said Johns Creek Mayor Mike Bodker.

A total of eighteen candidates ran in this, the first City Council and Mayoral elections for the City of Johns Creek.

“I also wish to thank all the candidates who ran in this historic race. The spirited campaigns and dialogue they sparked served our community well and it is my hope that all our citizens will remain involved as our first City Council moves forward,” said Bodker.

Fulton County Superior Court Judge Christopher Brasher will swear in McCabe and Figueroa, who won their respective races during run-off elections held Dec. 5.

The ceremony will take place as part of the Council’s Special Called Meeting and will be held in the Council’s temporary meeting room at 11555 Medlock Bridge Road, Suite 170 in Johns Creek. The building is located approximately ¼ mile north of Abbotts Bridge Road on the east side, just north of the AmeriSuites Hotel

 

The City if Johns Creek incorporated officially Dec. 1, 2006. The establishment of the City was approved in a voter referendum July 18 of this year. For more information, visit the City of Johns Creek Web site at www.cityofjohnscreekga.us.
