ATLANTA (Dec. 8, 2006) – Effective immediately, annual pass members no longer need a reservation to visit the Aquarium. Additionally, Georgia Aquarium annual pass members receive a 10 percent discount on admission tickets purchased at georgiaaquarium.org and a 50 percent discount on behind-the-scenes tours beginning Jan. 1, 2007.
A new member entrance offers quick entry where only an annual pass is required for admission. The Aquarium is able to offer the no-reservation benefit to annual pass members since the attraction rarely experiences sold-out days, and the staff has learned to manage the building for a good guest experience at any time. General admission visitors are still encouraged to make a reservation online to guarantee admittance. Members are encouraged to make reservations during peak times in order to know the best time to visit.
“We listened to our members, and since crowds are now calming, we can offer this benefit to members,” said Jeff Swanagan, president and executive director of the Georgia Aquarium. “We are excited to offer our members the opportunity to come any time they wish without a reservation. And with the additional discounts, annual passes pay for themselves in just two visits.”
In addition to unlimited visits, 2007 annual passes also include a new member’s entrance, Downtown Connects card, member’s only hours and events, and discounts at the gift shop, café, Deepo’s 3D Undersea Wondershow, parking garage and on Aquarium programs. Annual passes are on sale until Dec. 31, 2006, and are available at www.georgiaaquarium.org or by calling 404.581.4000. All 2006 annual passes will expire on Dec. 31.
