MARTA Board Of Directors Elects Officers

The MARTA Board of Directors elected officers for the 2007 calendar year during their regular monthly Board meeting on Monday, December 4, 2006. The 2006 Board officers were all reelected to their positions. They include:
Chair Edmund J. Wall (DeKalb County), Managing Director, Knox,
Wall & Company
Vice Chair Walter L. Kimbrough (Fulton County), retired Senior Pastor, Cascade United Methodist Church
Secretary Juanita Jones Abernathy (City of Atlanta), community
Activist and civil rights leader
Treasurer J. Thomas Kilpatrick (DeKalb County), Partner, Alston &
Bird
Officers are elected for one year terms. The Board consists of eighteen members representing the City of Atlanta, DeKalb, Fulton, Clayton and Gwinnett Counties, and the State of Georgia and is responsible for setting policy and making decisions for the Authority ranging from finance to customer service.
