Atlanta, December 11, 2006 – The Private Bank of Buckhead, which will target private businesses and affluent individuals, has set an opening date, according to Atlanta banking veteran Charles B. (Charlie) Crawford, Jr., who is the bank’s president and CEO.
“With great enthusiasm I am pleased to announce the opening of Private Bank of Buckhead on December 12,” Crawford says. “We have assembled a seasoned team that thrives on delivering extraordinary service to its clients. We will provide a full array of financial services customized for each customer and in the delivery channel that is most convenient for them.”
Crawford, who also serves as a director of the bank, was previously president of Riverside Bank of Buckhead from 2001 to mid-2005, and has worked in banking in the Atlanta market for 20 years.
Among customer-focused innovations the bank is touting is the relatively new concept of “remote capture” deposits, which gives customers quicker access to money by removing physical transportation from part of a check’s journey. “Remote capture shortens the lifecycle of incoming payments,” Crawford says, “facilitating the potential for improved float and lower transportation costs.”
“Ultimately, what will set us apart,” he says, “is first-class banking and financial services delivered by highly experienced professionals who are committed to building long-term, first-name-basis relationships.”
He notes that, “although our doors will be open for business December 12, a grand opening event is planned” for late January. Private Bank of Buckhead is located in a fully renovated Piedmont Center (Building Three) location. The bank’s design and construction was completed by a team that included Design Build Concepts, Kinzey Construction Company and Herring Troy Associates.
Crawford also notes that the bank has 12 organizing directors, all drawn from the local business community. In addition to Crawford, organizing directors include: Joel S. Arogeti, managing partner, Kitchens Kelly Gaynes, PC (law firm); Marvin R. Banks Jr., retired CFO, Gables Residential Trust; J. Frank Bell III, founder and CEO, Intellinet; Marcus E. Bromley, retired CEO, Gables Residential Trust; Louis Adolph Casal, medical director of psychiatry, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta; M. Bryan Freeman, president and managing member, Habersham Funding, LLC; James M. Givan, president and CEO, Design Build Concepts; Richard E. Huddleston, general manager, CompuCredit; Donny R. Jackson, retired executive, InterCept, Inc.; Jill K. Jinks, president and CEO, Insurance House; and Jeffrey L. Lemming, partner, Heidrick & Struggles.
