The City of Roswell was recently added to the 25 Best Affordable Suburbs in the U.S. by BusinessWeek.com and Sperling's Best Places. The list is comprised of suburbs of the nation's largest metro areas and focuses on median home prices, cost of living, crime rates and education systems.
Statistics were based on national and state averages. According to the list, Roswell has a median home price of $304,000, a cost of living index of 126.6, a violent crime index of 29 and a secondary school test score index of 101.
"Roswell strives to be a great place to live," explains Mayor Jere Wood. "Homes that families can afford help us achieve that goal."
None of the suburbs on the list have median home prices over $619,000 or cost of living indexes over 172.1. The average cost of living is 100. The average secondary test score index of the featured communities is 114 and the average violent crime index is 54.
Roswell has recently been named one of the Best Places to Raise Your Family and the 18th Safest City in the United States.
