Roswell, GA (November 21, 2006)-The City of Roswell will begin manually synchronizing the traffic lights along the Holcomb Bridge Road corridor beginning this week while the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) continues to upgrade its traffic light controllers at each intersection along the road.
GDOT began upgrading its equipment along Holcomb Bridge Road two months ago. They are installing new traffic light controller boxes and a fiber optic communication line between the lights along the corridor. Once work began, traffic lights on Holcomb Bridge Road became out of synchronization because the aged copper communication line was taken out of service while the new fiber optic lines were being installed.
The City will be checking each intersection's synchronization until GDOT completes the upgrade. Once the work is complete, GDOT will resume responsibility of traffic light synchronization along the corridor.
